GA-WEST MUNICIPAL SCIENCE, MATHMATICS, ICT QUIZES COMPETITION

The Young Visionary Leaders in 2017-2018 successfully organized a massive Municipal Junior High Science, Mathematics and ICT Quiz competition which saw thousand two hundred (1200) school children benefited directly or indirectly from fifty five (55) government schools in the Ga-West and North Municipalities. The project which lasted for one year period was aimed at promoting the Sustainable Development Goal 4, which seeks to ensure Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Promote Life-Long Learning Opportunities for all by 2030. GA-WEST MUNICIPAL JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEBATE COPETITION

2019 – 2020, our Junior High Debate was organized for twenty four public schools in the Ga-West and North Municipalities. This project trained and mentored thousand and thirty (1030) school children directly and indirectly on unleashing the act of public speaking in children in order for them to become assertive public speakers, prolific and visionary leaders. The project which lasted for one year period was aimed at promoting the Sustainable Development Goal 4, which seeks to ensure Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Promote Life-Long Learning Opportunities for all by 2030. This achievement was possible through the partnership of the Ghana Education Service Ga-West Directorate, Community Focus Foundation Ghana, World Vision Ghana and other sponsors.

HIGH SCHOOL SDGs AWARENESS

In order not to leave young people behind in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal, we had, through our High School SDGs Awareness Campaign, sensitized eight thousand two hundred and seventy (8270) students on SDGs. The project aimed at encouraging young people to be role models, doing things that will help protect the environment, and helping to sensitize their peers, families and communities on issues that the global goals seek to address. COVID-19 ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS IN THE GA-WEST MUNICIPALITY

In 2020, through our COVID-19 sensitization and economic women empowerment, we contributed immensely through media sensitization, community sensitization during the outbreak of COVID-19, distribution of thousands of IECs materials, donation of thousand five nose mask, five hundred (500) handwashing equipment including liquid soap, tissues and hand sanitizers in two (2) communities namely Gatihavor and Katapor. Five hundred (100) women were trained on soap making to mitigate the negative economic effect of the covid-19. We have also successfully monitored and reported on the implementation of Government’s Emergency Response to COVID-19 in the Ga South Municipality. This achievement was possible through the partnership of the UNESCO Ghana, World Vision Ghana CSOs Platform on SDGs 4, UNICEF Ghana, and Ghana Health Service

GBLAPEDO WATER PROJECT

We have successfully, through the partnership with Walking for Water Denmark, Love Spring and Hosten Hijscholen constructed and installed four mechanized borehole systems with storage (tanks) and taps for the following communities; Sonitra in 2022, Gblapedo in 2021, Hatsukorpe in 2021 and Pakro in 2023. Our water projects so far has benefited over 20,000 people including children in the Greater Accra, Volta and Eastern regions of Ghana

SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SOCIAL PROTECTION

COVID-19 SENSITISATION

In 2020, we contributed immensely through media sensitization and community engagements during the outbreak of COVID-19 to support the most vulnerable affected ones. We have also successfully monitored and reported on the implementation of Government’s Emergency Response to COVID-19 in four (4) selected communities in Ga-West and South Municipalities in Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
