WHO WE ARE

The Young Visionary Leaders Ghana herein refers to YVLG is a youth-led and focus National Non-Governmental Organization with the vision to empower lives and create a resilient society where everyone most especially children and young people have access to basic human rights and needs in their respective communities. It was established on the 6th march, 2015 in Accra Amasaman Ghana. It was registered with the government of Ghana at the Registrar General Department Accra under the company Act, 1963(act 179) with the registration number CG027002016 and was later registered with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection under the Department of Social Development with the Registration Number d.s.d/7000. The Young Visionary Leaders works in the thematic areas of Education SDG4, Health SDG3, WASH SDG6, Child development, Youth Empowerment, Social Protection and Accountability

OUR HISTORY

The Young Visionary Leaders Ghana is a youth led and focused National Non-‐Governmental Organization which was established on 6th march 2015 in Ghana. It was a dream that was birthed by Mr. Joseph Tettey Afangbe the founding director of the YVLG. It was registered in a few months after its establishment with the government of Ghana on the 16th may, 2016 at the Registrar General Department Accra with the registration number CG027002016. The organization was initially operating as students club in various basic schools in Amasaman a community somewhere in Accra Ghana for about a year, with the aim of helping school children and young people to excel academically in order to achieve their goals and become prolific leaders in the future.  The organization was later registered as a National Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with the Social Development Department under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.  Since then the organization has been working to promote education, sanitation, leadership, charity, and human right and community development which is helping children and young people from different communities in Ghana.  On the 7th June 2017, the Young Visionary Leaders Ghana had its certificate of recognition as a National NGO from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection with Registration Number d.s.d/7000 under the department of Social Development in Accra-Ghana. Young Visionary Leaders is currently working to promote the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We believe the world would be a better place for this and generations to come when we all work together as one people with common destiny

Young Visionary Leaders Ghana is currently operating in seven (7) regions in Ghana

  • Central Region (Cape Coast)
  • Northern Region (Tamale / Yendi)
  • Ashanti Region (Kumasi)
  • Western Region (Sekondi)

WHO WE WORK WITH

OUR TARGET GROUP

CHILDREN: Our target group are children ( boys & girl child)  between the ages of 6 – 16 years who are vulnerable and are deprived with some basic human rights and needs such as quality education, access to clean water,  proper healthcare for children. The need to ensure every child is protected and giving proper shelter remains our priority.

YOUNG PEOPLE: Young People are core to our activities at community, national and international levels who do not are our main target groups we work with. We work with Youth who are between the ages of 18-30 years who do not have a voice in society and are left behind in the implementation of major youth related activities.
